Family outings are always a memorable and fun experience. The other day, I did a road trip with my Big Indian Family to Vishakapatnam for a weekend break. Must tell you, the journey was a treat in itself.
It took us 3 weeks to decide the destination Vishakapatnam and it’s near by places like Araku etc, with an Indian joint family, vacation scenarios are more or less like a five year plan. Especially since it is the recession period, my dad and brother-in-law worked the pros & cons and also managed a handsome budgeted trip which only we Indians are capable of. Since we are known for investing for future, my dad had purchased an SUV while my sister was getting married saying that now the family is to grow. So we took out our priced possession and set out on our long journey to Vizag. Like a typical middle class family who hasn’t traveled much out of our household vicinity, we too were unfamiliar with the roads that were to lead us to our destination. Luckily my BIL is a tech freak and had recently bought a GPS navigation device (PND) from SatGuide exclusively designed and developed for cars .It was good that he was geared to take on unfamiliar roads because if we had lost our route then the time consumed for the journey would have been painfully more. The women folk in the car were skeptical to roll down the windows by sunset to ask for direction which brings me back to thanking my brother-in-law and his SatGuide gadget for leading us to our destination.
We were nearly 300 Km away from the city (Hyderabad) and the journey was hassle free. At Vijayawada we stopped at a decent family restaurant for snacks while was also told to us by our SatGuide PND. On fiddling around with the gadget I got to know that the device was loaded with maps of 200 cities and 1.5.million POIs. It even gave us our direction voice prompts in our mother tongue which is Marathi. This amazing device is truly useful while moving to unfamiliar places. On reaching Vizag, we checked into our hotel and called it a day as all the family members were worn out from the long journey.

epitome
dedicated to :housewives
well i am a housewife from Hyderabad who is technology challenged at the moment and is driven to blogging.... wondering what the cause is??? well i have reached the epitome of boredom... i wonder how many other housewives are there on this platform so that they can communicate with the outside world.i consider our category unique in-a- way as most people who blog do it out of passion or are there to get mass attention for some reason or the other. we are here out of sheer boredom.that gets me to wonder as to which phase of our lives do we find entertaining.school?? college?? employment?? when one expresses greed to achieve more in life, matured ones say is human nature.... and i agree. of course it took me a marriage, shift in location, detachment from family and so on to understand that man is never ever happy no matter what...when we say aim higher, what exactly are we aiming for?? well like i said i don't have pretty much anything to do round the clock and hence i read the daily newspaper, word-to-word. that is my window to the outer world. and today i happen to read that its Bill Gates last working day in Microsoft. point being, what is he going to aim for next?? i mean, it is impossible to get rid of your human nature overnight isn't it?? OK! now that is an exaggeration....let's say over a period of time... BUT STILL!! u r human after all...i feel an ideal mind is certainly a devil's workshop.... i mean it is a factory that generates a truckload of thoughts... otherwise why should i a simple housewife worry about Bill Gates retirement plans!! the things boredom drives u to think and do!! hahaha!! it tickles t funny bone too.... until next time.... see ya
